Toyota Tacomas of the 2015 SEMA Show

The 2015 SEMA Show is in full swing and this year is proving to be a great one. On the off-road and truck side, there are lots of exciting new products and ideas that will be flowing in to the 2016 year (more on that to come). While the Jeep Wrangler is still the reigning champion when it comes to aftermarket wares, one vehicle that seems to be hot on the Wrangler’s tail is the Toyota Tacoma.

With a completely new for 2016 Tacoma just being released, we didn’t expect to see a tremendous amount of aftermarket support for it so soon, but there are quite a few companies that are hitting the ground running.

1. ICON Suspension

18

ICON Suspension had this 2016 Tacoma in its booth sporting one of the company’s long-travel suspension systems. The bolt-on ICON kit left plenty of room for the 295/70R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers. This was one of the only extra cabs at the show, which helped it stand out from the herd.

2. Expedition One

1

Expedition One wasted no time getting its bumpers ready for the 2016 Tacoma platform. The unique shape and design of the Tacoma’s front end is going to be interesting when it comes to plate steel bumpers. We’re looking forward to how the rest of the aftermarket approaches the setup.

3. Warrior Products

14

Warrior Products offers a tremendous amount of aftermarket parts for the 2005-2015 Tacoma platform. We were really digging the armor on its double cab at the show. This battle-ready setup was sporting 285/70R17 Nitto EXO Grapplers, which complemented the setup nicely.

4. Toyota

2

Toyota had this vinyl-wrapped 2016 in its booth, which was actually one of the milder vehicles it had built for the show. (Wait ‘till you see the Tundra limo…).

5. LEER

16

The bed covers are big business and there were plenty of the top companies in attendance. We especially liked the clean finish of the Leer setup on the 2016 TRD Sport.

6. ARE

11

Another big bed player is ARE. The company went the overland route with its Tacoma, something we suspect we will be seeing more of in the future.

7. Truck Vault

3

Truck Vault’s Tacoma was one of the most drool-worthy at the show. The proportions, build components, and details throughout this truck were all nicely done.

8. Toyotec

23

Another one of our favorites at the show was belonged to Toyotec. The company’s 2016 Tacoma had an extremely well executed one-off front bumpers, along with 35-inch-tall tires.

10

We doubt the Tacoma will ever surpass the Wrangler in aftermarket support, but there’s no denying that the aftermarket support is growing. With the way more refined 2016, we think it’s only going to continue as more people find themselves moving to the mid-sized pickup.
