Ultra4's 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix was the second race of the 2016 Trail Gear Western Regional Series and fourth in the run for points towards the National Championship. Glen Helen Raceway's short course combined with it's motocross track made for thrilling racing in all the Ultra4 classes including UTV, 4600 Stock, 4500 Modified, 4800 Legend, and 4400 Unlimited racers. There were tons of twists and turns; and not just on the track! Every time I go to an Ultra4 race I'm reminded of the unknown and unexpected nature of racing - these teams and drivers step into an arena with no idea what the day will bring. Will it be a mechanical issue? If so, will it be fixable? Will it be a run-in with another driver? Will it be a fault in one's own driving choices? Will your car still be the most powerful or has someone else built something newer? All of these questions and more played out on the stage of Glen Helen raceway and at the end of the day just 5 of the 41 4400 class competitors finished every lap of the main race.
